2016 Honda CRV Touring Roof Cargo Box Recommendation to Clear Rear Hatch

Question:

Rear hatch hits Thule Spirit 1600xt cargo box on Honda factory roof racks and cross bars. Is there a different Thule box that allows the rear hatch to open all the way without hitting the box and making the automatic closing sensor go crazy!! Or suggestions??

When we installed the Thule Pulse part # TH614 on a similar 2013 Honda CR-V we found that it allowed the rear hatch to open without any interference. I attached a demo video that shows this.

You will need to slide your front crossbar as far forward as possible (it it's adjustable), and then you will need to measure from the center of the bar to the seam of the rear hatch. If that measurement you took is more than 42-5/8 inches then the rear hatch will open without interference.
