Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2014 Ford F-150 and Fusion

Question:

Im trying to get my husband a bike rack for Christmas. We have a 2014 F150 and 2014 Ford Fusion. I am wanting one that is easy to install/uninstall we will only use as needed and hold bikes sturdy. Ive heard from some friends that recommended Saris, saying that is the brand they have had the best luck with. Im struggling on which one to purchase. Can you give me some words of wisdom?

For a 2 bike rack for both your vehicles the Saris SuperClamp EX2 part # SA4025F that you referenced would be a great choice. This is a very versatile rack that would fit both of your vehicles well.

This American-made rack uses wheel mounts instead of frame mounts which is the preferred way to secure a bike since it doesn't touch anything but the tires. This is especially important for carbon framed bikes or ones with expensive paint job. Another great feature of this rack is that it is lightweight. Most platform bike racks are rather heavy and this one weighs 36 lbs.

The Ford truck should have a factory hitch on it, but for one for the Fusion you would want the part # 24897.
