At this time we do not have a base plate kit option for the 1965 Jeep CJ5. So flat towing would require a custom fabricated base plate kit to be made up.
Once you have a custom base plate kit, you can use the Tracker Tow Bar, # RM-020, which is designed for towing long distances and more frequently. With this tow bar you will need a set of Quick Disconnects, # RM-201, to easily connect and disconnect the tow bar from the base plates.
You will also need the a Safety Chain Kit, # RM-643 these safety chains will keep the vehicle attached to the tow vehicle in case the coupler becomes detached from the hitch ball.
Next, the Custer Magnetic Towing Light Kit, # RM-2120, which will give you lights on the towed vehicle as required by law.
You will also need to check with the manufacturer for instructions on the proper procedure for towing your 1965 Jeep, because some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, an axle disconnect, drive line disconnect, or free-wheeling hubs before they can be towed.
