Recommended Wrench for Tightening Square Bolts of Convert a Ball Adapter part # CAB-C5G

Question:

We are having trouble locating a socket to tighten the square bolts..... Bought a 3/8foot drive crow foot and adapter that will not allow a good tighten. We are going to disassemble to install the thick pin box plate. Can we just replace the square bolts with the same sized hex grade 8 bolts? If not, where do I get a square OR 8 point socket in the Ellenwood Ga.metro Atlanta area? Adapter was temporarily installed to tow trailer approx 60 miles. After bwe get other parts it will permanently assembled.

Actually for the install of the Convert a Ball Adapter part # CAB-C5G that you referenced the install instructions recommend the use of a large crescent wrench for the large square bolts that you referenced.

This might be an easier solution for you than trying to replace those bolts with ones that have a hex head.

100 ft lbs is the recommended torque for those bolts.
