Will Boone No-Rattle Trailer Hitch Wedge Work With Brophy Hitch Adapter # HTAD

Question:

Hi, I have a Curt C11330 trailer hitch installed on a 2008 Scion tC. I need to install a 1-1/4inch to 2inch hitch adapter and was deciding between the Brophy HTAD and HT5R. My preference is the HTAD because I dont need any additional rise, but my concern with the Boone anti-rattle device #93347 is whether or not it will physically fit between my Curt hitch and the Brophy HTAD adapter. Using dimensions provided in your Brophy HTAD video review thank you for that btw!, I did my measurements/calcs and find that there will be 3/4inch between the most rear portion of the Curt hitch and the transition area on the Brophy HTAD where the 1-1/4inch solid shaft meets the 2inch portion. Do you know if this will work? Thanks.

I pulled a Boone No-Rattle Trailer Hitch Wedge, part # 93347 from our warehouse and took a measurement for you.

I have attached a photo of the wedge and have noted the dimension of the wedge that fits in the 3/4 inch opening you said you will have between the receiver opening and the back of the Brophy # HTAD. Using an adapter like HTAD will decrease the towing capacity of your trailer hitch by 50 percent.

The 93347 wedge measures .454 inches so it will fit just fine between the receiver and adapter.
