Is a Longer Brake Controller Wiring Adapter Available For 2015 Toyota Sequoia

Question:

Is there an extension cable made that you can plug into the four wire end of the 3040-P cable to extend its length. The 32inch length is too short for mounting the controller into the center console are of my Sequoia.

I have a solution for you, but there is not an extension available to make the #3040-P any longer than 32 inches.

You can use the universal wiring harness, # 20127, that comes with the Tekonsha Brake Controllers, like the Prodigy P3 # 90195, to extend the length of the # 3040-P harness by hardwiring the universal harness into the adapter. To extend the harness, you can cut the wires on the # 3040-P a couple of inches behind the connector to install the wires. This will give you an additional 12 inches on your # 3040-P harness.

To make the connections on the wiring harness, you will want butt connectors. For 16 or 14 gauge wire, you can use the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector # DW05744-5. For 12 or 10 gauge wire, you can use the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector # DW05745-5.

Since the # 3040-P adapter has an additional ground wire at the brake controller connector, you will want to use that connector to plug into the brake controller, rather than the connector on the universal harness.
