Can the B&W Pintle Hook Mounting Plate be Used in Both the Rise and Drop Positions

Is there a correct position the hitch plate? I thought it was just as strong either way

Expert Reply:
The B&W pintle hook mounting plate # BWPMHD14004 can be used in the rise or drop position and the capacity remains the same. It is rated for 16,000 pounds gross trailer weight. For a bolt-on pintle hook you can use # C48205 which is rated for 10,000 pounds so you would be limited to that 10,000 pounds. The hardware that you need to bolt it to the mounting plate is included.
For a higher capacity pintle hook use # C48210. It is rated for 20,000 pounds but you would be limited to the 16,000 pound capacity of the mount. I have linked video reviews of all 3 products for you.
