Trunk Mount Bike Carrier Recommendations for a 2007 Toyota Camry

Question:

This is for a gift, how easy is it to install and remove? I see others who bought this added an adapter bar for a womens bike. Is that necessary? If so what bike rack for trunk mount, 2 bikes for a Camry would accommodate if one is a womens bike?

For the 2007 Toyota Camry, starting with ease of installation and removal, almost all trunk mount bike carriers, including the Passage # TH910XT, use 6 straps with coated hooks to attach to the vehicle. The first time takes the longest because you have to get the hooks in the right place for all 6 straps. Each time after that though gets easier and easier.

But if you want something that is super easy then I recommend the OutWay # TH45JV. This is by far the easiest bike rack to install/remove that I have ever used. So I bought one. What makes it so easy is the 2 rubber coated straps that it uses instead of 6 straps. It also comes with locks for both the rack and the bikes to deter theft. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you.

You mentioned that this was going to be a gift so if the Raceway exceeds the gift budget for that particular person, the Archway, # TH9009XT, is a quality, solid option.

The adapter bar, such as # 64005, is sometimes required and sometimes not. It all depends on the bike style. If it is a step-through frame then an adapter bar will be needed. If it is a traditional woman's bike it won't have to have it but it is recommended to keep the bike level on the carrier. I use them and it is super easy. I have linked a video showing how the adapter bars work.
