Loosening Speed-Link Straps on Thule SnowPack Ski Carrier to Remove Carrier from Roof Rack

Is there a way to loosen the speed link straps to remove the rack from the crossbar?

On the Thule SnowPack ski carrier # TH7326 first make sure the feet of the carrier are unlocked. Then turn the tensioning knob counter clockwise to loosen the straps enough to pull the one end free from under each foot. I have linked a video review and the instructions for this carrier for you.
