Fitment of Slide Out Stabilizers on a RV
Question:
I have some questions regarding slide out stabilizers. First, Are they necessary? I have the corner stabilizers along with additional support by the wheels. Is there any chance they could cause damage? I realize that you would not put pressure on them. but Ive read in RV forums that they could cause damage in case of a flat tire, etc. Also, if there was movement, could the banging against them with trailer motion damage the slide mechanism? Why would I need these? Thanks!

Good news, I can help you understand why you would want these stabilizers for your RV.
Stabilizers like the # UF19-960002, work to keep your slide out level, prevent sagging, and damage to your RV's extension tubes. They are designed to be used with your other stabilizers on your RV for an overall stabilization of the unit when parked. There shouldn't be any room for the stabilizer to have movement therefore no banging against parts if installed properly.
If you are concerned about a flat tire, then you can monitor the tire pressure on the RV's tires # TM89FR. If you are sitting at a location for a long period of time and the tire goes flat, then yes, weight from the trailer will come down with it and when an abnormal amount of pressure is put on an item, things start to bend. But that is no fault of the stabilizer it would be because the tire wasn't being maintained properly.
If used properly these stabilizers could really help balance the slide outs of your trailer and work in tandem with your current stabilizer legs to cohesively balance your RV for a homey secure environment. I have linked our page of stabilizing legs for your convenience.
