Compatibility of Swagman # S64400 Original Bike Rack with Dodge Durango

As long as your Durango has a 2 inch hitch receiver and the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole in the receiver tube rearward to the furthest edge of the bumper is less than 14-1/2 inches, the Swagman Original, part # S64400 would work just fine for you.

If you don't have a hitch, I'd be happy to recommend one if you would reply with the model year of your Durango.

The Swagman Original does have some down sides, though. If there is a large difference in the frame tube diameter of the bikes you're carrying, the frame tubes won't be gripped very tightly in the cradles. The bikes with the fatter frame tubes will be snug, but the bikes with the smaller diameter frame tubing will have quite a bit of movement which could cause the bike frame to get scratched. There is no mechanism to prevent the bike from swaying fore and aft during transport, which could allow the bikes to bang into each other.

A 4-bike rack like the Trailhead, part # S63380 provides individual cradles that will easily accommodate frames of different diameters. The cradles also provide and anti-sway feature that prevents the bikes from swinging back and forth. The rack is also slightly less expensive and about 5 lbs lighter than the # S64400 Original. A combination hitch/cable lock is available as part # S64031. This rack would also fit your Durango very well, as long as that clearance distance was less than 9-1/2 inches.
