Recommendation for a Roof Cargo Basket on a 2011 Toyota Tacoma with Factory Roof Rack and Crossbars

Hi, I own a toyota tacoma with equipped with a stock retractable roof rack which measures 34 inches from center to center rack is not adjustable . Will the Rola cargo rack #59504 fit my toyota tacoma?

I can help you get a roof basket that will be compatible with your factory roof crossbars.

It is important to choose a roof cargo basket that will be able to adjust to your factory roof rack. The way that the Rola basket # 59504 clamps are attached to the rack restrict it to certain crossbar measurements and it will not accommodate your 34 inch spread.

I do have a few recommendations that will fit your needs.

Rhino Rack offers a Steel Cargo Basket # RMCB02, very close to the dimensions of the Rola carrier. Because this cargo baskets clamps mount on the bars that run front to back it allows for the basket to be adjustable for a wider range of lengths opposed to the incremental distances on the Rola basket. The factory crossbar dimensions that these clamps can support are 3-1/2 inches wide by -1/4 inches tall.

Another option that has a slightly smaller basket dimension, but has similar adjustable clamps is the Thule Canyon Roof Cargo Basket # TH859XT. While we haven't tested it on your specific vehicle we have confirmed the clamps will fit around a bar that is 3-1/8 inch wide and they have multiple u-bolts ranging up to a 2-3/8 inches tall.
