Could the Convert-A-Ball Step Gate # CAB-SG-2R be Installed on Driver Side of Tailgate

Question:

2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 I have a wheelchair lift on the passenger side and this item will not fit in that location. Is there any reason I couldnt mount this on the drivers side? I know the handle would be more in the middle area of the tailgate, but Im going to have to pull it off anyway. Also, when you attach the steps, why could you not turn the steps 180 degrees to the right and end up with the handle to the left of the steps? Does that make sense? Better yet, do they make a two stepper for the drivers side with the handle on the left? If so, what is the part number? Thank you,

If you wanted to mount the Convert-A-Ball Step Gate # CAB-SG-2R on the driver side of your truck tailgate you certainly could. In the factory orientation the steps would be on the driver side, but if you switched the steps around you would end up with them wanting folding out in the opposite direction so it might be a bit awkward trying to get the steps up and down.

Another option to consider would be the part # TS2000-01 which could also go on either side. There is no handle though.
