Bike Rack Recommendations for a 1989 Volkswagen Vanagon

What bike racks do you have for use on a VW Vanagon 1989. For 2 bikes only, front or preferably back mounted. thanks!

For your 1989 Volkswagen Vanagon you could go with a trunk mounted bike rack like the Hollywood Racks Express part # HRE3 that has been confirmed as a fit. Even though it is a 3-bike rack, you can carry 1, 2 or 3 bikes. This is a great option for ease of installation and price point but doesn't include security. If you want to deter theft, I recommend adding # TH533 to secure the rack to the vehicle and then a cable lock like # e98891 to secure your bikes to the rack.

If you already have a trailer hitch, you may want to consider a hitch mounted bike rack which will not touch any painted surfaces of your vehicle.
