Can Mounting Brackets Be Reversed When installing Adjustable RV Frame Mount Hitch

Question:

I am looking at your adjustable hitch to mount on my 2012 Sundance by Heartland and I have some questions. My I-beams are 71 1/2inch wide total and the outer side is exposed. Are the side brackets reversable? Will the receiver tube be long enough if reversed? Can a receiver mount be purchased that is lower as my 4inch waste hose tube mounts to the bottom of the I-beam

The Curt Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 13703 fits frames from 22 to 72 inches wide. On an I-beam like yours that measures 71-1/2 inches, if you reversed the brackets and attached them to the outer side of the I-beam, the sleeve that is bolted to the hitch tube would be on the outside of the I-beam and the tube would not be long enough.

I have attached a drawing that shows how the hitch is designed to mount to an I-beam.

We do not have a lower receiver mount that attaches to the frame of your RV. I have attached a link to the bumper-mount hitches we have available for RVs you can check out.
