Troubleshooting Installing Trailer Light That Has 2 Wires When Old Light Had 3
Question:
have trailer lights lead with three wires black red and green my old hookup only has two wires with the black and red hooked up everthing but the brake lights work how can I resolve this problem?

Typically when a stop/turn signal trailer light assembly only has two wires run to it that means that it grounds through the mounting hardware of the light.
What you will need to do is test the wires of your trailer for voltage with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to determine which wire carries which function. The extra wire of your new trailer light is most likely a ground and could be run to the mounting hardware of the light so that it will ground properly.
