Can you please tell me what the measurement is from the top of the ball to the base right before the shank starts? Also, could you please confirm this ball will fit your item # AMSC2? Thank you.

I went out to the warehouse and pulled Curt hitch ball # 40038. From its base to the top of the ball it is 2-3/4 inches tall.
Curt hitch ball # 40038 does indeed fit Convert-A-Ball cushioned ball mount # AMSC2. The ball mount requires a ball with a 1 inch diameter shank that that is what the ball has. I have linked a picture showing the measurement and some videos on the ball and ball mount for you.
