Replacing Damaged Taillight On Camper
Question:
I need to replace the left brake light assembly. The plastic license plate bracket broke and the replacement part is one unit. My question is how do I access the wiring? Do I just pull on the existing wires to access the end of the wires or do I need to open the skin of the camper by accessing the square screws. That seems pretty invasive, but I also dont want to pull too hard on the wires. thanks for any input

If you're looking for the driver's side version of the # 30-92-002, you'll want the # 30-92-004, which has the built in license plate bracket and license plate light.
Once you remove the lens, and the screws holding the lamp housing to the camper body, there should be enough slack in the wiring that you can access the splice where the lamp connects to the camper's wiring harness. Pull gently on the wires, but if there isn't any give in them, you'll need to access the wiring from underneath or from inside the camper.
