Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2016 Jeep Cherokee Latitude

Question:

according to jeffrey l, one of your experts, when posed the question below, gave the following answer: Do Tow Hooks Have To Be Removed When Installing Base Plates On 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk Expert Reply: The installation of the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit, part # RM-521446-4 does not require removing the hooks at the front of your Trailhawk. I have attached the installation instructions you can check out. There may be some trimming of the spoiler, air dam, grill, or fascia required. The instructions have some great photos that will help with installation. If you are not familiar with flat-towing, I have attached a helpful article that you can check out. If you need a tow bar to go with the EZ4 base plates, I recommend the RoadMaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, part # RM-522. For safety cables I recommend part # RM-645. The lighting I recommend for your Jeep is part # RM-154. I have attached a link to an installation video you can take a look at. Most states now require a supplemental brake system. The system I recommend is part # RM-9400. I have attached a link to an installation video for this brake system. MY QUESTION IS, IS THIS TRUE FOR THE 2016 JEEP CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK? IF THIS IS TRUE, I WOULD BUY YOUR SYSTEM DESCRIBED.

The same fit information for the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk applies for the 2016 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. So the part # RM-521446-4 would fit your vehicle and would not require removing the tow hooks.

Most likely you will also need a high low adapter so that the tow bar will be level when you are flat towing. I attached a link to a page that has all of the ones we carry.

The lighting I recommend for your Jeep is part # RM-154. I have attached a link to an installation video you can take a look at. You will also want the # BX88206 to connect this lighting solution to your tow vehicle. This comes with a round 6-way connector that you will install on the front of your towed vehicle and enough coiled wire to go from there to the RV.

Most states now require a supplemental brake system. The system I recommend is part # BLU37TR. I have attached a link to an installation video for this brake system.

If your Cherokee has 4 wheel drive or the Activedrive 2 system, to maintain the vehicle's stable steering while being flat towed you will want to install the Mopar accessory kit 68321424AB, available from your Jeep dealer. This kit will prevent the Cherokee's steering from shaking while being flat towed.
