Dust Caps Keep Falling Out
Question:
I recently purchased a 10inch trailer brake drum and bearing assembly. I have lost two hub covers since installing. I lost the original one and put the original back on after the new one left me. Any advice?

I recommend measuring the hub bore of the dust cap, or grease cap, seat to make sure you have the correct dust cap for your hub. The dust cap should be a few thousandths of an inch larger than the hub bore. I have attached a diagram showing where to measure the hub bore for you. You will also want to ensure that the dust cap is fully seated in the hub bore.
The cap used by the # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K hub and drum you ordered measures 1.986 inches. The replacement cap with that measurement for you EZ Lube spindles is part # 21-41-1.
