Is Pilot Hole On Aluminum Trailer Wheel An Issue Fitting Trailer Hub If It Is Larger Diameter
Question:
I am interested in new trailer wheels. The size on there now is 5.30x12, 5 on 4 1/2. I see in your answers to other folks the 5.30x12 tire will fit on a 12x4 wheel. But you say the pilot hole is 3.19. If i am measuring mine wheel correctly Im seeing something like 2 3/4inch or 2 13/16. Do you have a wheel this size?

A larger pilot hole on a wheel like part # LH45FR will not pose a problem if the wheel is held in place with the lug bolts. The only time the pilot hole would be an issue is if it is smaller than the trailer hub diameter or if you use bolts to attach the wheel and the wheel fits more snug around the hub. This is defined as hub-piloted.
All of the 12-inch wheels with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern we offer have the same sized pilot hole of 3.19 inches diameter.
