Which Trailer Tires to Replace Existing P205-65/15 Tires on Utility Trialer

Question:

I have Gillette silver bear tires on a utility trailer size P205/65/r15. I do not see that size on your site. What other size would replace it? Thanks

The P205/65R-15 tires you mentioned are passenger car tires, which is why you couldn't find then on our site. Because trailer tires are manufactured with stronger sidewalls they're better suited for handling the vertical loads they'll experience on a trailer.

I'd recommend you go with a ST205/75R-15 tire. The tire would have the same tread width as your current tire, but would be about an 1-1/2 inches larger in diameter. This would bring the top of the tire about 3/4 of an inch closer to the underside of the trailer or the fender, which shouldn't present a problem.

You'll want to choose tires whose combined load rating exceed the fully loaded weight of the trailer (weight of trailer itself plus all cargo). I'd also recommend a radial tire, as they shed heat better and generally offer a smoother ride.

The Taskmaster # TTWTRTM2057515C is a 205/75R-15 radial tire in a load range C. Each tire is rated at 1820 lbs when properly inflated to its maximum 50psi. I've linked you to our Trailer Tire FAQ article, which I hope you'll find helpful.
