Availability of Fifth Wheel Hitch to Fit Older Style Fifth Wheel Rails that Run Parallel to Frame

Question:

If I weld the rails to a 3/16 flat iron on both sides and slid it into my existing system and then bolt it in place solid to the frame it is sliding into will it be as strong as the rails bolted to the frame-my system is the old style that runs parallel to the truck frame with a 5th wheel hitchvery heavy and large sliding in the system so it can be adjusted to the fore or slightly behind the axle and I want to still use it as i also slide a crane hoist in it when the 5th wheel is not attachedI also want to use the rails for a goose neck plate when the 5th wheel is not in or my hoist-it doesnt make sense to me to tear it all out and then try to figure a way to mount my hoist and not be able to remove it easily, I really dont like the room the current one takes up and how hard it is to unload and re attach. I have bought from you before and was please with your answers and products.

Sounds like you have the old style fifth wheel rails that run front to back. Demco makes rails like this and they are referred to as their SL Series line.

The Demco Hijacker SL Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM6076SL-16K is designed to fit the SL rails like the part # DM8553004-12.

It sounds like you are looking for a hitch to attach directly to your parallel fifth wheel rails as well as get a gooseneck adapter like part # DM5992.
