How to Pick Out Sidewinder Pin Box for a Fifth Wheel Trailer

Question:

Hi guys. I have a 2013 DRV Tradition 380RES. I would like to tow it with my 2015 F250 4x4 crew cab. 6.2 gas. I had the 20k Reese sliding hitch installed but I am very concerned about making semi tight turns. Is there a sidewinder that I can use on this set up.

In order to pick out a Sidewinder for your fifth wheel trailer you are going to first need to know what pin box you have on your trailer currently. Up near the pin box there should be a sticker or plate that will have this information listed.

Once you figure out which pin box you have you can check the FAQ I attached that has a chart that shows the correct Sidewinder to get based on which pin box you have.

If you have a Lippert 1621, Fabex 665, or an M and M 665 pin box the part # 5AB-E1621-610 would be the correct Sidewinder.

You can still use your slider hitch with the Sidewinder, but you will need to leave it in the forward most position at all times.
