Do Headers have to be Installed to Add Cold Air Intake on a 2006 Chevy Silverado with 6.0 Liter

I hear people saying you cant put an air intake without a headers? Is that true? And what about this item?

When upgraded parts people will usually upgrade headers along with adding cold air intake but you do not have to upgrade headers to be able to install just cold air intake. So in other words you can install just cold air intake # AR200-247 if you want.
This particular model will fit your 2006 Chevy Silverado with 6.0 liter motor as long as it has a belt-driven radiator fan. For models with electric fans use # AR200-251.
The filter will need to be cleaned periodically so I recommend Airaid cleaning solution # AR790-554.
