Using Swagman Exo Aero Kayak Carrier System # S65145 on Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer
Question:
Will this Kayak Carrier fit on the Yakima Rack and Roll bars and handle a Hobie Pro Angler 14? How about two Pro Angler 14s. If not, what is my best option for saddles on this setup. I have tried sitting the kayaks directly on the bars, but the towers that hold the Yakima bars have sharp edges on them and it gouges the bottom of the kayaks. Two Hobie Pro Anglers side by side take up all of the space on a Rack And Roll Trailer. I have tried Yakima Aero Saddles but they failed miserably. The kayaks pressed them flat too heavy for this type of saddle. Ill buy from you guys if you can match me up with something easy to load and unload. Thanks.

The Swagman Exo Aero Rooftop Kayak Carrier System # S65145 will fit the round crossbars on both sizes of Yakima Rack and Roll trailer, parts # Y08107 and # Y08106. These trailers have a 250-lb weight carrying capacity unless you have the 78-inch version # Y08107 and you add the heavy-duty shocks # Y08110, in which case weight capacity increases to 300-lbs.
The Exo carrier's capacity is determined by your rack. It can handle the Pro Angler's weight even though the trailer may not. A fully rigged Hobie Pro Anger 14 weighs 145-lbs, so two of these may be more than your trailer is rated for. You'll want to take care to avoid overloading the Rack and Roll trailer.
The Exo carrier is a universal-fit type that can be installed on the outside edges of the crossbars, in other words outside of the structures that hold the crossbars. This may allow a better fit for the 38-inch width of the Pro Angler 14 as long as the trailer can handle their combined weight.
