Replacement Axles And Suspension Systems For Converted Mobile Home Trailer

Question:

Thank you for your help. I was told it was a construction office trailer/ tool shed and I am not sure the technical if the axles but it appears to be the house trailer type rims. What is a general price range for a whole new axle?

If the axle you have was under a mobile home, they are built for one-time use only and I do not recommend trying to modify or use other components on that axle. It would need to be replaced with a new axle.

The hubs, drums, and wheels we offer are for trailers and we would not have a Ford or Chevrolet hub and drum or wheel as you were mentioning.

We do carry the inner bearing you said is on your axle. The bearing we have is part # L68149 and is used on 3,500 lb spindles. I did some research and found that the outer bearing you said you have is found on vehicles and we do not offer a replacement for that bearing. I wish I had better information for you but we do not have axle components for vehicles.

We offer trailer axles that have a •Hub-face-to-hub-face length of 60 inches, 72 inches, and 89 inches. These use a leaf spring suspension and the spring center-to-center lengths that vary as well and these axles have a weight capacity up to 3,500 lbs. If your trailer requires a larger axle you would need to find a nearby supplier that can manufacture a system that would work best for you. I do recommend choosing a system with the brakes and hub and drums already installed to make it much easier when installing. We also offer universal suspension systems that are axle-less and have weight capacities from 1,200 lbs to 7,000 lbs. Both of these type systems are offered with brakes, idler hubs, or no hubs. I have attached a link to the product pages for the systems you can check out. You can check these pages out and find the system that would work best for you. The prices for the products we offer are listed on the product page. For example, if you need a system that has a 3,500 lb weight capacity and has electric brakes already installed I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System, part # A35RS545E. This system comes with the brakes, hubs and drums, bearings races and seals.
