Wiring Harness for 2015 GMC 2500 with Factory 5th Wheel Wiring
Question:
My 2015 gmc 2500 truck came with the optional fifth wheel/camper wiring provisions.I am told the wiring is located at the rear crossmember behind the spare tire.I have looked but I dont know of Im looking for a capped plug or just blunt cut wires, any knowledge on this? Also if this is a plug in harness I have not seen a pig tail with a bed receptacle end and a plug in end for the additional Oem end that I cant locate. Any help here?

The factory 5th wheel/gooseneck wiring harness will be bundled up either behind the spare tire at the bumper beam or on the driver-side frame rail behind the rear tire. The factory harness will have a plug, likely with a cap, that connects to the back of a 7-way connector, like # PK11893, and is likely protected by wire loom. This harness should be long enough to reach to the side of the bed to install a 7-way trailer connector.
If you cannot find the factory 5th wheel/gooseneck harness, you can use a wiring harness like # 41157 that will plug in between your factory wiring and the 7-way connector at the rear of your vehicle.
