Can a Brake Controller Be Removed from a Truck without Affecting The Vehicle
Question:
Just purchased a vehicle with the controller mounted in it. Right now we have no intention on using the controller. It is mounted underneath the dash, below the steering wheel column, in the pocket mount. Can the controller be taken out the pocket mount and if so will it effect anything? With the current location of the controller, my wife keeps hitting it with her leg. Any suggestions on where it can be moved to for possible future use. Thanks

To remove the P2 part # 90885 from your truck you will just need to unplug the connector from the back of the controller and then remove the controller from the mounting bracket. If you do not plan on towing a trailer with brakes at any point having the controller removed would not affect anything at all.
Without knowing what vehicle you have it's hard for me to say exactly where you could move the controller to. However, if there is room further to the right where it is currently mounted you could put it there if that would get it out of the way. Basically anywhere in your truck where it could be easily reached from the driver's seat would be just fine as long as the controller is squarely facing the rear of the vehicle.
