Comparing Hitches Available for 2007 Suzuki SX4

Question:

Suzuki SX4 Hatch, 2007. I will be installing a hitch on Suzy. I see the Curt. I questions that were not answered on your web site. 1. Can a Euro-ball be ed into any of these this Curt hitch? 2. Which product is engineered with the receiver closer to the bumper? Another way to ask the same question, if I were to install each product on my car, which product would have the receiver the highest off the ground? I need as much clearance as possible directly under the receiver. 3. Which product is least affected by extremely salty roads? Around here, they dont just apply some salt, they put down a layer of salt frosting! My Curt hitch installed on our Sienna purchased from eTrailer, of course is complaining about skin rash and we know Curt is well-made. Thank you

A Euro-style ballmount could be used in the Curt Class I, part # C11443. The # C45561 offers a 1-7/8 inch ball on a 3-1/8 inch rise. The Euro ball mounts are actually rated for a Class II hitch, but as long as you don't exceed the 200 lb tongue weight capacity of the hitch, you'll be fine.

This hitch would sit a few inches below the rear bumper, as shown in the provided photo. Unfortunately, I do not have the exact measurement.

If you'll be towing, you'll also need a wiring harness. I'd recommend # 56002.

As far as rust resistance, the Curt hitch is powder coated over a protective base coat. One thing to remember, due to where a hitch is located on a vehicle, it will be subjected to lots of abuse with road debris and rocks getting kicked up into it all the time. You'll want to check the hitch occasionally to ensure the paint is in good shape, and lightly sand and touch up the paint as needed.

If you have your heart set on a Euro-style ball mount, the Curt hitch is a great choice.
