Comparing Extang Express and TruXedo TruXport Tonneau Covers

Question:

Good morning, I am going to buy a tonnaeu cover for my 09 ranger . Its between the TruXsport role up cover and this one . Looking at the two they look pretty much the same , until you get to the price. Is this cover any better construction , materials, design, or anything or is it just the manufactor ? I was looking at the Truxedo TruXport tonnaeu cover but there seems to be two different latches and tenioners shown . At the top of the page the photos show a plastic latch and knob adjustor for the tenion , and at the bottom pictures it shows a metal latch with an automatic spring adjustor ? Thanks for your help

I found very few differences between the Truxedo TruXport # TX250101 and the Extang Express # EX50630. Both covers connect to rails with velcro, install in the truck bed by clamping around the truck bed rail, and feature no-arched bows for an aerodynamic design.

The biggest difference I noticed is in the warranty lengths of the covers. The Express # EX50630 has a lifetime warranty on factory defects, and the Truxedo # TX250101 has a 5-year warranty.

Personally, I prefer the Truxedo TruXport # TX250101 over the Extang cover. I feel that the TruXport cover provides the same great features as the Express and the TruXport offers the features at a great price-point. I have attached a review video of this tonneau cover for you.

The release tabs on the TruXport are silver metal tabs, not plastic. I have attached a photo verifying what the latch and tension spring look like. The TruXport features an automatic tensioning device with the latch so that you do not have to automatically adjust the tension on the cover.
