Locking Hitch Pin for a Kuat Beta Bike Carrier for 1-1/4 Inch Trailer Hitch
Question:
Hello. I recently purchased a Kuat Beta hitch rack. I have a Class 1 hitch with a 1.25inch receiver. I am looking for a hitch lock. I noticed that you sell a Kuat lock. But, I am looking for a lock that would have a cover on the lock to keep moisture out. Any recommendations? Thank you.

The Kuat Beta bike carrier for 1-1/4 inch trailer hitches, # B202-114, has a 3/8 inch diameter hitch pin hole. This is smaller than the standard 1-1/4 inch hitch which has a 1/2 inch diameter pin hole. Because of this the Kuat Beta requires its own special locking pin, # HL1. No other locks will fit because they will be too big.
What I recommend is to use the Kuat lock and to keep moisture and corrosion out you can use some grease and use the key to push it in and work it around inside the lock. Don't use a spray lubricant though such as WD40 because that can actually attract debris and cause problems.
The LubriMatic White Lithium grease in 14 oz. Cartiridges # L11354 is a great option.
