Is There A Time Limit for How Long Tire Snow Chains can Be Left Installed
Question:
I have a question and it may be a dumb question but how long are you able to drive on these chains. I live in Chicago where my parking spot is in the alley and snow builds up. The past 2 winters Ive gotten stuck in the alley, and even the side streets leading up to my house. So I guess my questions is. Is this something I can leave on my tires for a few days or only used while your stuck in the snow and then remove?

Snow chains can be left on as long as they are needed and there is snow on the ground. You do not want to use them on dry pavement though as that will wear them out quickly and damage the road most likely. Also, you have to go pretty slow with chains installed (around 35 mph max), so that could be an incentive to take them off as well.
