As long as your owner's manual says it is okay to flat tow your 2002 Chevrolet Blazer you are good to flat tow. To flat tow your Blazer you will need a base plate, a tow bar, tow lights, and a supplemental braking system. I have attached a help article on flat towing for you.

For a base plate, I recommend the Blue Ox Base Plate # BX1627. This base plate is designed to fit the 4 wheel drive Blazers. No welding or drilling is required to install this base plate, it bolts securely to your vehicle's chassis.

The tow bar I recommend is the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar # BX7380. This tow bar is compatible with the # BX1627 base plates, and this is a hitch mount-style tow bar. The telescoping arms self-align to help make hooking-up to the base plate easy. I have attached a review video of this tow bar for you.

In order for your vehicle to have stop, turn, and tail lights while being towed, I recommend the Optronics Heavy Duty magnetic Tow Lights # TL21RK. These lights mount to your vehicle using large, heavy-duty magnets for increased stability. You may need a wiring extension to connect the tow lights to your motor home. I have attached a link to all of our wiring extensions for you.

To provide your Blazer with a supplemental braking system, I recommend the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This is a proportional supplemental braking system that applies the brakes of the towed vehicle proportionally to the brakes of the motor home. This braking system is portable, so it's easy to install and can be moved to another vehicle later.

When towing your vehicle, you want to keep the tow bar as level as possible. Because of the difference in vehicle heights and RV hitch heights, you may need a high-low adapter. I have attached a link to all of our high-low adapters for you.
