Trailer Brake and Turn Signals Not Working when Connected to 2008 Nissan Pathfinder with Tow Package
Question:
I have a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder and tried to rent a trailer. They hooked up the trailer and the brake and turn signals did not work on the trailer. It is all factory installed hardware and has worked in the past. Not sure what the deal is. The tech checked the connector under the car and said that the issue is not in the connector but between the connector and under the hood. I am hoping it is something as simple as a fuse. Any thoughts? Please help

Since the factory trailer connector on your 2008 Nissan Pathfinder was working before it is likely a blown fuse or a relay that is causing the problem. These can be found under the hood in a panel behind the battery. I linked a video that will also help.
The smaller relays are for the turn signals you can also check the fuses using the legend on the fuse panel lids. (There is a second panel inside the cab of the vehicle you can also check.)
If you need and relays we have a kit, # C57000, that comes with 2 small blue relays and one large brown relay that activates the 12 volt circuit on a 7-Way connector. Fuses can be obtained at any auto parts store.
