2015 Nissan Rogue Trailer Hitch and Enclosed Cargo Carrier Recommendation

Question:

Can the Yakima EXO be attached to the 2015 Nissan Rogue? Will the 2015 Rogue be strong enough to handle the weight going up and down the steep mountains in Arizona? My Will the rear hatch door open if the tilting cargo carrier is tilted or is there not enough room? Do you have recommendations to increase the resistance to water/snow/ice getting inside the cargo carrier? Lastly, please recommend the best hitch, and anything else that will be required to install this cargo carrier for my 2015 Nissan Rogue. Thanks much!

First let's start with a hitch for your 2015 Nissan Rogue. For that the Draw Tite part # 75902 would be a great option that would work well with the Yakima EXO Swing Away Enclosed Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches - 10 cu ft - 100 lbs # Y62VR that you are interested in.

The # Y62VR isn't rated for off road use so if the roads you will be travelling on are pretty rough you would have to slow down enough so that the bumps wouldn't be harder than what you would experience traveling on highway roads.

There will be some movement with this carrier, but the Yakima EXO comes with a locking anti-rattle device, pulling the shank to the side of the hitch to reduce rattle and will minimize nearly all of the movement. As far as snow/ice, the carrier is water resistance. In a heavy rain, it could leak. It is recommended that you pack your belongings in plastic inside of the carrier.

Using the Yakima EXO, you would have full access to the cargo area of your Nissan Rogue. The Yakima EXO # Y62VR swings completely away from the vehicle, allowing you to completely access your items inside of your vehicle. You can see this great feature in the attached informational video, and actually see this carrier in action.
