Replacement Head and Shank for Draw-Tite Trunnion Bar Weight Distribution System

Question:

I need to replace my hitch head anf shank. I have a drawtite weight distributing hitch and anti sway bar. My srpring bars are 1 1/8 in. and appear to be rated at 750#s. My question is that my hitch head had some sort if pin to hold the trunion in place. Does the pr54980 have these pins and is this the correct head for me?

The most likely head that will fit your Draw-Tite system was 62167 (discontinued) but it does not come with or use pins to hold the trunnion bars in place. If the pin latches look like # 58025 then the head will not be compatible with your spring bars. I have linked a video review of this head for you.

For a shank you can use a Reese shank. I have included a link to them for you.

If your system is old enough then replacement parts will not be available and the system should be replaced. You could use Pro Series system # 49569 with the friction sway control bar you already have.
