Fuel Requirements for Flashpaq Programmer on a 2001 Ford F-250 with 6.8 Liter V10
Question:
Hello, can this be used with 87-89 octane gas? As stated I have 2001 f250 super duty extended cab v10 4 speed trans., 2wd cold air intake. Would like better fuel economy and power when pulling travel trailer, 5k to 6k lbs. Does this help with trans. shifting?

The various tune modes of the Flashpaq programmer # SU1845 for your 2001 Ford F-250 with V10 motor have different fuel requirements. For light tow mode you would use the octane fuel specified by Ford for your truck. For heavy towing mode you would need to use 91 octane gas or higher. The changes the programmer will make to how the motor runs dictates the octane of the fuel required.
When not towing you can use the Mileage XS mode which requires 87 octane. The program does have the ability to change and firm up shift points.
