The Demco Dominator, # DM9511008, has a capacity of 8,000 pounds which is plenty for the 4500-5500 lb weight of a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500. For a base plate, use # DM9518134.

You'd also need a lighting solution so the lights on the truck operate in tandem with those of the tow vehicle. A magnetic mount lamp like # RM-2120 would be an easy lighting solution that wouldn't require any cutting or splicing into existing wiring.

A supplemental braking system will also be needed. The Delta Force, # SM99242 is easy and quick to install and set-up.

According to my research, if the truck is Rear Wheel Drive, and is equipped with an automatic transmission, further modifications like installing a transmission lube pump would need to be made to the vehicle so it could be towed without damaging it. 4 x 4 models can be flat towed, according to the procedure in the owner's manual. If the truck has a manual transmission, it can be towed as-is.
