Kayak Carrier Recommendation for Carrying Kayak Heavier than 80 lbs
Question:
Im looking for a better solution than my foam blocks on top of my Yakima round bars for my new Wilderness System ATAK 140. This kayak weight 84 lbs and the Yakima Evenkeel are only rated for kayaks up to 80 lbs. Is 4 lbs difference a huge deal or should I keep looking for something else? Since Im likely going to rig my ATAK with more gear this 4 lbs difference might even get worse. All of this is mounted on a 2007 Honda Element. What are my options?

I can't ever recommend you exceed the weight capacity of a roof carrier so you would need to go with a different setup.
The Rhino Rack Kayak Carrier part # S510 has a 99 lb capacity so it would do well for carrying your 84 lb WS ATAK.
Be sure not to exceed the roof capacity of your vehicle as well.
