Can a Trailer Battery Be Used for Breakaway Battery for Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator
Question:
Can the dexter electric over hydraulic breakaway be connected to the house battery in my boat in lieu of a separate 9AH battery? I have bow mounted batteries and if its possible to just use a cigarette lighter plug in to connect to the actuator and not purchase a separate breakaway kit it would be simpler.

As long as the battery you use for the breakaway of the Dexter Electric Over Hydraulic Brake Actuator # K71-651 has at least a 9 amp/hour rating it could be used as a breakaway battery.
As far as using a cigarette lighter style connection as a way to make a quick disconnect for the battery you would have to check with your local DOT on that. It theory it would work great and fine, but the DOT local to you might require a more permanent installation.
