Platform Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2007 Volkswagen New Beetle
Question:
I am considering this rack for a 2007 VW beetle and I am concerned the rack will have trouble extending rearward enough to clear the rear protudimg rear bumper on the beetle. It seems that the supports for the two bike trays will rub or rest on the rear bumper. Can you provide some comments on clearance for the tray supports to the bumper. Thanks

I checked with Thule and the OutWay Platform part # TH65JV has been confirmed as a fit for your 2007 Volkswagen New Beetle. The lower arm of the carrier will rest on the upper portion of the bumper so the wheel trays should not interfere with the bumper at all.
