Can a Reese Weight Distribution Spring Bar be Used Upside Down
Question:
Can the spring bar actually be turned over and used the same way? To allow for a taller trailer tongue than truck hitch?

Spring bars can only be installed the one way. You would not be able to install them correctly upside down anyway. All you would need is a weight distribution shank that provides the right amount of rise needed to tow the trailer level.
Measuring for rise is easy. You take a measurement from level ground up to the bottom of the trailer coupler with the trailer level. Then you take a measurement from level ground to the top of the receiver opening on the trailer hitch. However much taller the coupler is than the hitch is the amount of rise you will need.
I have included a link to the weight distribution shanks we carry but if you can tell me the brand system you have and the amount of rise you need I can make some specific recommendations. For example if you have a Reese system for a 2-1/2 inch trailer hitch you could use shank # RP54977 which has a maximum rise of 8-1/4 inches.
