Cushioned Pin Box Recommendation for Slider Hitch that Chucks

Question:

Dec 14, 2014, I purchased a Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs from you and ever since I get a cluking noise from the jaws of the hitch when starting and stopping.. Is there a fix for this, I would think that this would not be normal. I

Slider hitches by nature have quite a bit of movement in them due to the amount of moving parts when compared to a stationary hitch. The noise you described is referred to as "chucking" and is not uncommon, especially with slider hitches.

About the only solution I can provide would be a cushioned pin box. You would need to know the pin box brand and model number though first before you can pick out the correct one. This should be printed on a sticker or plate near the pin box of the trailer. Once you know what you have you will be able to select your pin box from the filters at the link I attached to see what would fit.
