Will Thule Passage Trunk-Mount Bike Carrier Fit 2007 Subaru Legacy Outback Wagon

I have a 2007 Subaru Legacy Outback. Will this rack be safe to travel from Boston to Ca. I have an old heavy mountain bike and a mid weight road bike. Thank you.

Per Thule's fit guide, the Thule Passage 2 Bike Carrier, part # TH910XT will work with your 2007 Outback Wagon. The only issue you should be cautious of is if you have an aftermarket spoiler attached to your Outback.

You mentioned you have an old heavy mountain bike to carry along with another bike. The weight capacity for this bike rack is 70 lbs or 35 lbs per bike. You always need to place the heaviest bike closest to the vehicle.

If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bike to be carried more level in the carrier while providing additional ground clearance. I have attached a product review video for this adapter bar.

For added security I recommend the Thule Passive Security Strap, part # TH533. You simply loop the strap around the bike carrier and then close the puck end inside the rear hatch.
