Solution for Shocks of Lippert Center Point Rubbing Tires

Question:

Where as my shocks are rubbing on my tires once in a while on just one side of the 5th wheel, should I remove the shocks and go with out or take the trailer to a welder and have them modify the top shock mounts? Do the shocks help much with this suspension system? Thanks for your help,

Helpful Expert Reply:

If the shocks of your Lippert Components Trailair by Center Point Air-Ride Suspension Upgrade # LC1565391 are rubbing your tires occasionally that just means you have a clearance issue that could be fixed by taking the trailer to a qualified welder to move the shock mounts closer to the frame so that they are further away from the tires.

The shocks help quite a bit to smooth out the ride quality. Removing them would cause the ride to much harsher. I would not recommend that.
