How to Replace Brake Controller of a 2006 Ford F-250 with Prodigy P3
Question:
just purchased a new Crusader 5th wheel. On the way home the TBC on my 2006 F350 gave a red trailer flash every 1-2minutes. Stopped by the local Ford dealership and replaced the 7 pin connector in the bed as per their service bulletin. Same problem. They said to replace the TBC with a $450 parts price. My question, can I replace the old factory unit with your Tekonsha P-3 90195 unit with no problems? Somewhere I read I would have to have a dealership erase the memory in the truck CPU concerning the old built in controller to have the new work properly. Is this true? And is this a feasible process to get my trailer brakes working correctly again?

Replacing your factory brake controller with the P3 # 90195 would be a great option. You will need to take your truck to a dealership to have the code turned off though. I attached a help article that details this.
To install a Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller part # 90195 in your 2006 Ford F-350 you will use the wiring harness # 3065-P.
The harness will plug it into the factory plug after disconnecting it from the factory controller.
