Trailer Hitch Rated for 18,000 Pounds for a Motor Home on a 2007 Freightliner Chassis

Question:

Do you have an 18K hitch for a 2007 freightliner custom chassis under a 36 foot Winnebago Journey motor home? I have acquired a 26 foot aluminum 10 foot interior ATC trailer that has GVW of 16K. Would like to upgrade the hitch on my motor home for this trailer.

We have some hitches that could potentially work on your 2007 Freightliner chassis. But to get the capacity you are looking for it will have to be a heavy duty weld-on truck hitch, # 38023. This hitch only fits frame widths of 33-12 to 34-1/2 inches (frame width is measured outside to outside from one frame rail to the other). It also measures 10 inches from the bottom of the vehicle frame to the bottom of the receiver. Welding should be performed by a professional welder. A ball mount is included.

You will also want to consult the motor home owners manual to determine the towing capacity of the vehicle.
