How to Pick Out Replacement Brake Assemblies for a Travel Trailer

Question:

I want to replace the electric brake assemblies on my 2010 travel trailer. The dry weight of the trailer is 6450 lbs. How would I go about ing the proper weight per axle brake assembly? I havent checked for sure yet but, Im assuming they are a 12x2 with I know , a 5 bolt on the back install. Would a 7000# assembly be adequate? Thanks!

Expert Reply:

The best way to pick out replacement brake assemblies is to go with ones rated for the weight of your trailer, has the correct mounting flange bolt pattern, and will fit the hubs that you currently have.

If your axles are rated for 7k, have a 5 bolt mounting flange, and have hubs that are 12 inch by 2 inch the part # 23-180 and # 23-181 would be the correct brake assemblies.

I attached a help article for you to check out as well.
