Brake Controller Recommendation for a 2001 Ford F-250

Question:

I have a 2001 Ford F250 Super Duty pickup with 7.3L diesel engine and automatic transmission. I need a brake controller but I am not sure which model to buy. The truck has both a 10 pin and 4 pin connector but I do not know if they were factory installed or aftermarket. I want a decent brake controller but I have a limited budget so any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. This is a proportional brake controller that senses the amount of braking the tow vehicle is applying and applies a proportionate amount to the trailer brakes.

If you had a factory 7-way connector that looks like # 37185 you would only need the # 3035-P to install the controller.

Most likely you have a 7-way, but in case you have something different than what the 37185 looks like send me an email and I will take a look at it and see what the best way to proceed is.
